Updated February 23rd - 2008 - Lia goes back in the studio to record "You Had Me Going" to be released at Spring SOS on KHP/Ripete Records. Although the band has taken a little break rest assure it is only temporary. Currently booking for Summer of 2008 and beyond!!!

Updated June, 2007 - L'l John Thompson fills in on Bass and Vocals. New song release "All The Good Times" doing quite well and will be the title track on the new KHP Compilation to be released for Fall SOS.
Udated March 8th, 2007 - Lia & The Wave are currently working on our first full project CD. It will include all of the previous hits from the last two years as well as 4 new original tunes and some of our best re-makes. We are shooting for Spring SOS for a release. Stay tuned.... Little John Thompson has been filling in on Bass and we are lovin' it. He brings great energy to the band and his Vocals are a great addition.

Updated July 30th, 2006 - "Slow Dance" is #11 on Fessa John Hook's top 40 and Happy Hour is #1 for two straight months in Emporia, VA. We are so proud of our music and how it is creeping up the charts. Slow Dance is getting the most attention and we hope it will reach the top 10 next week. We have had a great summer and have been all over NC & SC performing. We are hoping for several CBMA nominations this year and we really appreciate your continued support!!!!
Updated May 1, 2006 - Wow Lia & The Wave have really been busy. Since our last update we have added a full time Saxaphone player, Michael Maffeo, formerly of the Holiday Band, we have release another new song "Slow Dance" which is really doing well and on the new More Soul 4 CD released this past week at Spring SOS. Also released at SOS on the "Locals Only" CD produced by KHP records is the new Lia & Taylor duet "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing". Our calendar is filling up and we have been traveling quite a bit. We would like to thank all of you for your support and we are looking forward to a great year!!!
Updated November, 17th, 2005 - A great time was had by all at the 2005 CBMA Award weekend. Congratulations to all the nominees and the winners!!!! Lia & The Wave had two great performances on Saturday and it was great to see everyone! We would like to thank Peagram Prevatte Insurance and Myron and Darlene for use of their condo for the weekend. They are one of our associate sponsors for 2005-06 year.
Two new songs will be recorded in December. One is a smoothie called "Slow Dance" that we performed at Fat Harolds(CBMAs) for the first time and the other is a boogie tune with a great shag beat and a lot of attitude called "Take Your Time". Lia will also be recording a duet with Mike Taylor of The Holiday Band. We are looking forward to a great 2006 so Catch The Wave~~~~~

Meet Brooklyn, The Jr. Shag Babe.
Brooklyn is a special fan of Lia & The Wave. Brooklyn is 7 yrs. old and is visually impaired. Since the age of 3 she has been a dedicated fan of Beach Music. She had her first stage appearance with The Attractions who adopted her as their #1 fan and produced a CD in her honor. She has performed with Scott Fine now with the Band of Oz, The Fantastic Shakers and she is practically a member of Lia & The Wave singing "Couch Time" every chance she gets. She is also a big fan of 920AM and 1150AM which she listens to daily and is becoming quite the shagger. She has been taking lessons from Carol Oakly, The Shag Babe, at 3 Thirty 3. She loves her 3 Thirty 3 friends and they love her. It is such a blessing to see the smile on Brooklyn's face when she is able to express herself through music. I hope you get an opportunity to meet this special little girl. When you do you will see why she is so important to Lia & The Wave!!!!

Updated August 30th - Where do I start? Things have been great with Lia & The Wave. Couch Time moved up two spots in August on Butch Halpin's picks www.carolinasounds.com and it continues to do well on WBAGs top 20 countdown. Our new single Happy Hour will be on One20 Inc.'s Soul Street III. It will be released at Fall SOS in September. We think it is our best yet! Our new member Jason Johnson, drummer, is working out great. He really has a feel for the music and has a great voice too! Chad McCall, our former drummer, has moved back in to the sound business and comes highly recommended. We miss him but we know he will do very well!!! Things are really busy and we are very thankful!

Updated July 4th - "Couch Time" has edged up the chart on WBAG Top Twenty Countdown. It came in at #4 this week! Charlie Brown has Couch Time at #6 on his picks list. The compilation on khp records will be out this month so be looking for it. We have a busy schedule in July so please check our dates we have added several since our last update. Oh, one more thing! Van is taking shag lessons and you are going to be so impressed by his skills!!!!

Lia & The Wave has also secured The New Talent Showcase at the Carolina Beach Music Award weekend in November. We will play on Saturday from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. We will also play at Fat Harolds that same evening with The Holiday Band.

The Holiday Band's new CD is out and it is awesome. Their CD release party was Saturday at Fat Harolds and it was a blast! Holiday performed all the cuts off the new CD including a special appearance by Pam Russell from Shaggie Maggie. She performed with Mike Taylor on their new single and was GREAT!. Brian Brewer from 90.9 FM Weekend Beach Party (Sat. 10 a.m.) emailed me today to say that we made his top 20 this week! That's cool!!!! He also said we got a mention in by Kelly Harrison of The Beach Music Reporter.. It's nice to have a little good news! Thanks so much for requesting the song. March 2005 - Lia and Family take Shag Lessons Lia, her husband Mike, and her two children Zeb 11 and Allie 7 are taking Shag Lessons from The Shag Babe this month. Zeb seems to be the best so far. Carole says she is going to make a dancer out of him!!! Jr. SOS here we come!!!! Lia and Allie are catching on nicely and Mike? Well, God Bless him he is sooooo determined. He might end up the best of the bunch! Carole teaches on Tuesday evenings at 3 Thirty 3. Come join them!
February 2005 - Lia & The Wave welcomes Chad McCall to the band. Chad is an accomplished drummer and has played in several bands, most recently The Showcase Band.
Updated Dec. 16th, 2004 - RECORDING UNDER WAY!!! Lia and The Wave recorded w/ Mitch Easter on December 16th in Kernersville, NC and the results are lookin' good. (see pic above) Awesome Studio!!! Thanks to Mike Taylor for his excellent arranging, clever keyboard tracks and producing the project! Thanks also to Bill "Rolex" Ward for his awesome drumming! Horn players will be brought in to finish the project and we'll be ready for release.
Update Oct. 04 Lia and The Wave will be recording in December two of their original songs written by Van Stuckey and Lia Long. Mike Taylor of The Holiday Band will produce the singles for release in Feb. 2005.
